ABOUT KAYLA

Kayla Rose Caron was born on April 13, 2016.  She was the most easy going baby and toddler, who was always happy with a smile on her face.  She loved playing with her big brother Camden and all of her cousins.  Kayla was looking forward to being a big sister to her baby brother, whom unfortunately she will never get to meet.  Kayla enjoyed going to the park and beach, going on bike rides, and she loved to eat!  On October 10, 2017 Kayla passed away unexpectedly, due to unknown causes.  It is often referred to as Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood (SUDC).  She was just 18 months old.

OCTOBER 10, 2017

It was a typical morning.  Kayla stayed home with her Mommy and Camden while Daddy was at work.  They spent the morning playing and running errands.  Kayla took her two normal naps, one in the late morning and the other after lunch.  At around 2 pm, Kayla and her brother went to their neighbors to play with the two little boys next door while Mommy went to work for a few hours.  Kayla was her happy and energetic self, playing and running around.  At around 4 pm, Kayla seemed tired, refusing to eat her snack and rubbing her eyes.  Kayla was put down for a short nap at 4:15 pm.  Daddy came to pick Kayla and Camden up at 5 pm.  When the sitter went to wake up Kayla so she could go home, she was non-responsive.  Daddy, being a fire fighter, is well trained in medical emergencies and immediately began CPR until the on duty Emergency Personnel arrived. One of the first to respond to the 911 call was Kayla's Uncle, Anthony, also a fire fighter.  Together Kayla's Daddy and Uncle worked side by side, trying to revive her.  Kayla was rushed to Beverly Hospital where they tried all avenues to save Kayla's life.  After hours, the medical team was still unable to get a pulse and just like that our sweet Kayla was gone and instantly our lives forever changed.  Kayla's cause of death remains unknown and is referred to as Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood (SUDC).
